Papoose Club granted the Hunger Coalition funding to cover half of the Infant Formula program. Papoose is the main/only outside supporter of this program. Since 2005, the Papoose Club has helped provide over 33,000 bottles to 365 children. Thanks to Papoose, no family who has come to the Hunger Coalition’s doors seeking formula has ever been turned away.
The Infant Formula Initiative has been a powerful program that brings people to the Hunger Coalition. We have the 6th highest food costs in the nation and 52% of our community is food insecure or one crisis away. When COVID struck, numbers quadrupled overnight. Last year, Hunger Coalition served what they were before the pandemic.
